VALDOSTA, Ga. — The Delta State University men's golf team completed the opening day of the
First Federal Southeastern Collegiate on Monday at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, finishing two rounds of play with a
team score of 584 (+8) to sit
15th overall heading into the final round.
Hosted by Valdosta State, the two-day event features 12 ranked NCAA Division II programs competing on the par-72, 7,257-yard layout.
The Statesmen carded rounds of
291 and 293 during Monday's 36 holes of competition.
Ty Werynski led the way for Delta State with a two-round total of
140 (-4) after firing a
68 in the opening round followed by a
72 in round two. Werynski's performance places him
tied for 13th individually heading into the final round.
Also competing for the Statesmen,
Payne Bius posted rounds of
79 and 74 for a two-round total of
153 (+9).
Delta State will look to climb the leaderboard when play resumes Tuesday for the tournament's final round.
