Dickson, Tenn. — The Delta State University men's golf team opened up the Gulf South Conference Championships Monday morning at the Greystone Golf Course in Dickson, Tennessee.
After the first round, the Statesmen are in eighth place as a team with a total of 302 strokes (+14).
Individually leading the way for DSU is freshman Gonzalo De Minion. De Minion is currently in the top 10 as he is tied for ninth after shooting a even par 72 on the opening round with three birdies in the round.
Sophomore
Ty Werynski is currently in a tie for 24
th place after shooting a 75 (+3) with a birdie on hole four.
Ratchanon Aiemsumang is a stroke behind Werynski as he carded a 76 (+4) as he recorded three birdies in the front nine.
The Statesmen will return to the course Tuesday for round two as they continue their pursuit of a strong finish at the conference championship.
