VALDOSTA, Ga. — Delta State men's golfer Ty Werynski wrapped up an impressive showing at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional on Friday at Valdosta Country Club. Competing as an individual, Werynski finished tied for 34th overall with a three-round total of 218 (+2).
Werynski opened the tournament with a 77 (+5) before bouncing back in a big way during the second round, carding six birdies to total a 67 (-5) to climb the leaderboard and move into a tie for 26th heading into the final day.
The Statesmen standout closed the regional with a 74 (+2) in the third round to secure his top-35 finish against one of the nation's strongest NCAA Division II fields.
Werynski's second-round performance featured one of the best scores of the day and highlighted a strong postseason effort for the Delta State senior on the national stage.
