Sarah Mumme, a freshman on the Delta State women's cross country team, captures her second straight CableONE GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 4. The Holcomb, Mississippi native led the Lady Statesmen to a second place finish in the Delta State University XC Invitational by placing third overall with a 19:42.90.
Mumme's time Saturday was the 16th fastest 5K time in the program's history. Earlier this year, Mumme posted the 15th fastest 6K time in her 24:09 performance at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Lady Statesmen return to competition on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Mississippi College Choctaw Invitational in Clinton.
