P.J. Davis, a sophomore forward on the Delta State Men's Basketball team, captures the CableONE GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week award after leading the Statesmen to a split last week at the University of West Georgia and University of West Alabama.
The Cleveland, Mississippi, native scored a career-high 22 points on 9-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe in DSU's 85-67 loss at West Georgia.
Davis, a 6-foot-5 small forward, added four points and three rebounds in a dramatic 57-54 come-from-behind win at West Alabama this past Saturday.Â
Davis and the Statesmen return to the court this Thursday, Dec. 10, as Delta State hosts rival Christian Brothers University at Walter Sillers Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
