Adam Charlton, a freshman on the Delta State men's swimming and diving team, captures his first career CableOne GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week award after leading the Statesmen to a convincing victory over NCAA D3 power Emory this past weekend in Pensacola, Fla.
Charlton, a native of Newton Hall (Durham), England, continued his winning ways, as he claimed the 200-Butterfly (1:54.31) for the fifth-straight meet. In his next swim, Charlton won the 100-Butterfly with a time of 51.75.
Charlton and the Statesmen will begin prep work for the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships on February 17-20 at the DSU Aquatics Center.
