Morgan Kazerooni, a freshman first baseman on the Delta State Softball team, captures the CableONE Female Student-Athlete of the Week award after leading the Lady Statesmen to a series sweep of Lee University this past weekend at University. DSU moved to 17-4 overall and 9-0 in GSC play. Through three weeks of league action, the Lady Statesmen are in first place in the GSC.
The Kennesaw, Ga., native went 6-for-9 at the plate over the three-game series with two home runs, two doubles, six RBIs and three runs scored. She was 2-for-3 at the plate in each game of the series, with three RBIs in both game two and three of the series.
Kazerooni is batting .478 on the season with 10 doubles, three home runs and 24 RBIs. All four statistics rank in the top 10 of the GSC. She also paces the Lady Statesmen with 33 hits in 69 at-bats.
