Taylor Guess, a senior midfielder on the Delta State women’s soccer team, has been named the CableOne/GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week.
A native of Prairie Village, Kan., Guess scored the game-winning goal and recorded an assist against Spring Hill College on Oct. 27. The Lady Statesmen defeated Spring Hill College 2-1 for their second conference win of the season.
The senior helped guide the Lady Statesmen to one of their best seasons since 2008. Since transferring from Southwestern Christian University, Guess has played in 34 games with 30 starts. Her seven career goals are tied for 10th most in school history. She ended the season second on the team in shots and shots on goal, and fourth in goals and points.
