Devin Schmidt, a senior guard for the Statesmen, has earned CableOne GoStatesmen.com Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season.
The Sevierville, Tenn., native led the Statesmen with back-to-back double-doubles over the weekend. Schmidt scored 28 points, including 12-of-14 from the free throw line, and 11 rebounds in the 71-72 loss to Union University. Schmidt, then, led the way with 27 points and 10 rebounds in the 65-64 win over Christian Brothers.
The Statesmen return to action on Saturday, Jan. 7, when they play host to the University of West Georgia. Tip off is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
