Junior Abby Thomas was named one of GoStatesmen.com's Featured Athletes of the Week, presented by Guaranty Bank, as she helped the Delta State University women's cross country team to a 10th place finish at the University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Thomas, who finished as the second runner to cross the finish line for the Lady Statesmen, raced to a 22:04.69 on the 5K course at John Hunt Running Park. The Wesson, Miss. native, placed 75th overall for Delta State.
The Lady Statesmen are back in action on Friday, Sept. 25, when they travel to Florence, Ala. for the University of North Alabama Invitational 5K.
