SEARCY, Ark. - The No. 28 ranked Lady Statesmen (10-5, 6-0 GSC) tennis knew it needed a victory at Harding on Thursday, April 9 to claim the Gulf South Conference West Division title and the ladies from Delta State did just that - downing the Lady Bisons 6-3.
Sophomore standout
Lisa Jamais defeated Ling Chan at No. 1 singles in straight sets 6-3 and 6-3, while
Cecile Benzaki,
Lucia Laws and
Laura Mongin all picked up wins in singles play.
Benzaki and Mongin also teamed up to defeat Chan and Callei Huey in doubles 8-3.
