UALR Xmas Invitational Final Results (PDF)
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Delta State Swimming and Diving teams wrapped up competition at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Christmas Invitational Saturday.
Vlad Zinca led the way for the Statesmen, taking home first place in the 200-yard butterfly event with a time of 1:51.38. Zinca set a blistering pace and won the event by 4.31 seconds.
Stephanie Gonzalez picked up her best result of the meet on the Lady Statesmen's side of the 200-yard butterfly. Gonzalez finished just off the podium in fourth with a 2:13.76.
The Lady Statesmen finished up scoring 382 points, finishing fourth of seven teams that entered the event.
The Statesmen came home in third place with 637.5 points.
Tobias Tombers had a big final day as well, wrapping up a solid three-day meet. Tombers finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:09.00.
Tombers also finished third in the 200-yard individual medley, hitting the board with a 1:58.46.
The Statesmen and Lady Statesmen swim teams will now take a weekend off before hosting the Delta State Christmas Invitational at the Delta State University Aquatics Center. The meet will take place over three days from December 16-18.
