Statesmen Win Fourth Straight as They Defeat UNA 7-2

CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University Statesmen tennis team won its fourth straight match of the 2013 season defeating Gulf South Conference rival the University of North Alabama, 7-2.

DSU swept doubles play wining all three matches. In doubles one Florian Mondoloni and Guillaume Lacour won 8-6. Doubles two saw Tobias Rausch and Jean Michel Limery record the 8-6 victory.

In doubles three Sebastian Rajaonary and Clement Depreeuw won 8-5.

The winning continued for the Statesmen as they won four of six matches in singles play. Mondoloni won singles one 6-2, 6-1 while UNA recorded their first match victory winning singles two 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 over Lacour.

Tobias rausch took singles three for the statesmen with a score of 6-2, 6-1. The lions of UNA won singles four 6-4, 6-2 over Depreeuw.

The Statesmen would close the day with wins in singles five and six as Limery won 6-4, 6-1 in singlesfive while Rajaonary recorded the victory in singles six  with a final of 6-4, 6-3.

The Statesmen return to the courts March 18 as they host Christian Brothers University. Doubles play is scheduled to b egin at 1 p.m.
