Vicksburg, Miss. - The Delta State University Lady Statesmen (1-6, 0-3) tennis team fell 9-0 against Alcorn State University on Sunday, March 24.

In doubles play Maria Moya Morales and Hidemi Mayeshiro lost a close match in doubles one to ASU's Vanem and Kozcohok by a final of 8-3. Doubles two saw Hiritina Koceva and Sandra Tora of DSU fall short in another close match 8-3 to Buchman and Pinj of ASU.

Doubles three was forfeited in facor of ASU.

Singles play began with Moya coming up short for the Lady Statesmen in a 6-1, 6-1 loss to ASU's Vanem. Doubles three saw Tora of DSU fall in a tough match 6-2, 6-0 to Potopova of ASU.

The Lady Statesmen return to the courts on Thursday, march 28 as they face the University of Alabama in Huntsville in a Gulf South Conference Matchup. Doubles play begins at 11 a.m.
