MEET RESULTS
ROLLA, Missouri - In the first of back-to-back days against nationally ranked opponents Delta State University's men's swim and dive program defeated Missouri S&T, 110-95. The Statesmen picked up victories in six of the 11 events swam on the day.
Delta State picked up an event victory in the 400-Medley Relay (3:27.48), the opening event of the day, with the relay team of
Yvan Nys,
Matteo Fraschi,
Vlad Zinca, and
Fabrice Wendel.
Max Pendall (4:05.01) and
Cody Lavoie (4:05.11) finished 1-2 in the 400-Individual Medley. While Zinca won the 200-Butterfly (1:52.59).
Wendel won the 100-Freestyle (47.18) for the third time in three meets. Wendel added a runner-up finish in the 50-Freestyle (21.44) ahead of teammate
Nick Zorn (22.15) who finished third.
Nys (1:55.92) and Lavoie (1:58.61) finished first and third in the 200-Backstroke. Fraschi (2:04.35), Pendall (2:08.64), and
Tobias Tombers (2:14.77) came home first, third, and fourth in the 200-Breaststroke.
The 400-Freestyle Relay team of
Andreas Meuser, Nys, Zorn, and Zinca (3:09.80) finished runner-up in the final event of the day.
Delta State will see both the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen compete at Drury University tomorrow. Drury, the No. 1 men's team and the No. 2 women's team, are the reigning NCAA Division II national champions, with the Drury men claiming the past 10 consecutive titles and the women winning five of the last six.
