CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State Swimming and Diving are preparing to host the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference meet this week, starting Wednesday evening, as the Lady Statesmen look to repeat last season's championship performance.
This is the final chance for swimmers to earn the cut that qualifies them for the NCAA D-II championship meet to be held in Geneva, Ohio, beginning March 12.
Delta State has several top times this season, including a time that sat for as a D-II record for over half the season until it was eclipsed this past week.
The Lady Statesmen, ranked No. 31, are looking for back-to-back NSISC Championships after setting a dozen school records – including all five relays and seven individual events.

Klyarovskaya, a freshman from Russia, set the school mark in both the 100-Backstroke (54.93) and 200-Backstroke (1:56.44) – the later would stand as an NCAA Division II record until this past weekend. Klyarovskaya also swam legs on all five record setting relay teams.
The Statesmen, ranked No. 27, finished runner-up at the conference meet last season. This year started off with
Vlad Zinca claiming the 100-Butterfly against the University of Alabama during a September home meet.
