Results - North Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Delta State women's team was eliminated this afternoon in the first round of the Gulf South Conference Tennis Tournament against the University of North Alabama. The Lady Statesmen's season ends in a 5-0 shutout at the hands of the Lions.

Delta State entered the tournament 6-11 overall, with a 3-6 record in the GSC. The women have been battling injuries all season long, and were unable to overcome the odds resulting in an unsuccessful year, but yet a slight improvement from 2013.

The Lady Statesmen could not establish a victory in either singles or doubles play. They were swept in all three doubles matches and were quickly eliminated in singles play, with North Alabama advancing to the semifinals.

Departing Delta State will be senior Hidemi Mayeshiro finishes the season 6-5 in singles and 6-9 in doubles. The Lady Statesmen will now move into the offseason. DSU hopes to have a healthy and successful year in 2015.
