ROLLA, Missouri – The No. 8 Delta State University men's swim team earned a victory in its first road meet of the season against No. 18 Missouri S&T on Friday at Missouri S&T Pool in the Bullman Multi-Purpose Building. The Statesmen clinched first place in nearly every event to earn 114 points, while Missouri S&T finished the meet with 91.

- Short Story: Eight first place finishes propelled the Statesmen to a 114-91 victory on the road against Missouri S&T.
How it happened:- The Statesmen had a strong start claiming first and third in the 400-Medley Relay.
- The Statesmen took first and second in 1000-Freestyle. Makis Jorgensen won the event with a time of 9:53.10, while Nathan Sawicki came in second with a time of 9:57.30.
- Dylon Johnson finished the 200-Freestyle in 1:43.28 to claim first place.
- Cody Lavoie earned a pair of first place finishes in the 400-Individual Medley and 200-Backstroke.
- Mattia Schirru won first place in the 100-Freestyle with a time of 45.56.
- Matteo Fraschi took first place in the 200-Breastroke with a time of 2:02.61.
- The Statesmen sealed the victory with a first place finish in the 400-Freestyle Relay.
A Look Ahead:The Statesmen will travel to St. Charles, Mo., to compete against Lindenwood University on Oct. 24 at noon.
