Springfield, Mo. – The Delta State University diving teams recently wrapped up its second competition of the year at the Drury Invite.

Matthew Swaine, who achieved the NCAA qualification score on the 1-Meter board in his first meet of the year on Sept. 18, achieved the 3-Meter qualifying score (470.54) with a victory in the 3-Meter competition. Swaine also claimed a victory on the 1-Meter board with a 422.71.

Eli McBride finished in second place on each board, as he posted a score of 415.50 in the 1-Meter competition and a 413.40 on the 3-Meter board. Nicolas Martin (356.48, 363.14) finished in fourth place on both boards, while
William Ashwell (345.29, 348.82) rounded out the scoring for the Statesmen.

Cathryn Laird led the way for the Lady Statesmen on the 3-Meter board, as she finished with a personal best 311.55.

Hailey Leonard narrowly missed the NCAA qualifying standard (390), as she finished in second place with a 382.42 in the 1-Meter competition.
