Lady Statesmen Tennis Team Caps Off Weekend Road Trip With 6-3 Win Over Henderson State

ARKADELPHIA, Ark., - After spending the past four days in Arkadelphia, Ark., the Delta State women's tennis team finally returns home after Sunday's 6-3 victory over Henderson State University. The Lady Statesmen (3-2) began the day with a rough start in the first two doubles matches, but managed to pick up an 8-6 victory over the Reddies (3-3) thanks to the tandem of Sandra Tora-Martinez and Sara Alvarez-Rubio. The Green-and-White took on fierce singles competition, but maintained their composure by winning 5 of the 6 singles matches.

The Lady Statesmen will now take a well-deserved week off from play, as they will now prepare for their first Gulf South Conference matches against Christian Brothers University and returning GSC foe, Mississippi College. The match will be hosted by DSU on Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th respectively.
