Lady Statesmen Tennis Team Takes Out Lee, 5-3

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Delta State women's tennis team won their second Gulf South Conference matchup of the season against Lee University, 5-3, on Saturday, March 21st. The Lady Statesmen (5-3, 2-1 GSC) began the afternoon by winning two doubles matches over the Flames (5-4, 1-4 GSC). Alex Howe and Katharina Assmann won, 8-5, over Krista Good and Marta Garcia-Nieto. Sara Alvarez-Rubio and Sandra Tora-Martinez defeated Christy North and Jodie Rice, 8-3. DSU then took three singles matches from LU, with Charlotte Le Flohic, Sophia Luisa Niemeyer and Hristina Koceva coming away victorious.

The Lady Statesmen's next four matches will be on the road in Orange Beach, Ala. and Pensacola, Fla. including three GSC matches against the University of West Alabama, Valdosta State University and the University of West Florida.
