Lady Statesmen Tennis Team Loses to No. 23 Valdosta State

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Delta State women's tennis team lost their second match in a row to No. 23 Valdosta State University, 5-3. This was DSU's second match of the day, as they were defeated by West Alabama, 5-1. The Lady Statesmen (5-5, 2-3 GSC) took an early 2-1 advantage in doubles play, with Katharina Assmann and Alex Howe winning 9-8 over Bea Morales-Hernandez and Joanna Lario, and taking the second match via forfeit. The Lady Blazers (7-6, 5-2 GSC) were able to come from behind by winning the first four singles matches, surrending only one by default.

Delta State will remain in Pensacola, Fla. for the next two days, as they will face No. 3 Brigham Young at Hawaii on Saturday, March 28th and No. 8 University of West Florida on Sunday, March 29th.
