Statesmen Tennis Team Returns Home to Defeat Lindenwood University, 7-2

CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State men's tennis team were able to snap a 4-game losing streak Monday, March 30th, as they took down visiting Lindenwood University, 7-2. The Statesmen got off to a dominant start, taking all three doubles, including an 8-3 rout by the team of Niko Ptasinski and Arthur Berthiaux. The Green-and-White only surrendered two singles matches, but won the remaining four in convincing fashion. Upstart Joao Yamacita defeated Nicholas Bruenger, 6-2, 6-1. Ptasinski, Clement Depreeuw and Guillermo Cerrato-Saura were the other three Statesmen standing tall in singles action.

Delta State will go on the road once again to take on the University of Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday, April 4th, in Gulf South Conference play. The Statesmen are 2-4 in the GSC, and are 5-7 overall.
