Lady Statesmen Tennis Team Suffers Tough 5-4 Loss To North Alabama

CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State women's tennis team suffered their first Gulf South Conference loss of the year against the University of North Alabama on Saturday, March 7th. The Lions (3-3) brought down the Lady Statesmen (4-3), 5-4. The team of Sara Alvarez-Rubio and Sandra Tora-Martinez won DSU's only doubles match, 8-6 over Sydney Childers and Natalia Moreno. Delta State then split in singles play with Alvarez-Rubio, Sophia Luisa Niemeyer and Hristina Koceva each picking up victories.

The Lady Statesmen will take a week off and will return on Thursday, March 19th to take on Lindsey Wilson College in Cleveland, Miss.
