Lady Statesmen Tennis Edges West Georgia, 5-4

CARROLLTON, Ga. - The Delta State women's tennis team are on the road once again for Gulf South Conference action. The Lady Statesmen (7-7, 3-4 GSC) took on the Wolves of West Georgia (9-8, 1-6 GSC) on Friday, April 3rd. DSU got off to a rocky start, dropping 2 doubles matches to UWG. Katharina Assmann and Alex Howe were able to get the lone doubles win by defeating Sara Watson and Sierra Brown, 8-6. After losing the first two singles matches of the day, the Green-and-White took control. Howe, as well as Sophia Luisa Niemeyer, Sara Alvarez-Rubio and Hristina Koceva were all victorious in the remaining four singles matches.

The Lady Statesmen will be heading home again soon, but not before they take on the University of Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday, April 4th. The Lady Chargers are 7-8 on the year anx are 4-3 in the Gulf South Conference.
