PENSACOLA, Florida – The Delta State University women's swimming and diving team won six events, but fell in a double-dual meet to No. 10 University of West Florida and No. 1 NCAA Division III opponent Emory University on Saturday at the UWF Aquatic Center.

• Short Story: The Lady Statesmen had six wins and five runner-up finishes in a narrow loss to UWF.

 
How it Happened:

• The Lady Statesmen opened the meet when the team of Anastasia Klyarovskaya, Kirsten Stroven, Kierstin Page and Chloe Bennett claimed the 200-Medley relay in 1:45.69
• In the next race, Melanie Tombers earned the first of her two individual victories, as she claimed the 1000-Freestyle in 10:17.13. The reigning NSISC Swimmer of the Week finished her meet with a victory in the 400-IM (4:32.27).
• In her second swim of the meet, Klyarovskaya won the 100-Backstroke with a 56.55. Klyarovskaya also claimed the 200-Backstroke in 2:01.63.
• After a runner-up finish in the 50-Freestyle, Chloe Bennett swam a 52.80 to win the 100.
• In the last race of the meet, the 200-Freestyle relay, Emory narrowly out- touched (1:36.66, 1:36.75) the team of Hannah Core, Bennett, Maria Belisario and Celina Batsel.
• Page contributed runner-up finishes in the 200-Butterfly and 500-Freestyle.
