CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State women's soccer team will embark on its final Gulf South Conference road trip of the season to face Shorter University in Rome, Ga., on Friday, Oct. 21 at 4:00 p.m. and Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 1:00 p.m.
INSIDE THE SERIES:
- Shorter leads the series 3-1.
- Friday's game will mark the fifth meeting between Shorter and DSU since the series began.
- During the 2015 season, Shorter defeated DSU, 2-1.
- Lee leads the series 3-0.
- This will be the fourth meeting between to the two teams.
- In the last meeting between the two teams, Lee won 5-0 over Delta State.
ABOUT DSU:
- The Lady Statesmen are currently 4-9 on the season and 0-8 in GSC play.
- The Lady Statesmen are seeking their first GSC win of the season and look to snap a 21-game conference losing streak that dates back to 2014.
- They enter Friday's match coming off 3-1 loss to fellow GSC rival, UNA.
- Delta State's scoring offense is fourth in the Gulf South Conference.
- The Lady Statesmen are third in the in assists per game averaging 1.846.
- Delta State is ranked third in the GSC in points per game with 6.15.
- The Lady Statesmen's 28 goals on the season rank fourth in the GSC.
- Catherine Thomson leads the team in goals and points. She ranks 13th in the GSC in goals scored and tied the DSU record for most goals scored in a game when she scored a hat trick against Alcorn State earlier this season.
- Taylor Guess leads the team in shots (25) and shots on goal (13).
- Emily Oldacre has made 51 saves this season and ranks fifth in the GSC in saves per game.
- Anoucke Baas and Katie Swaine hold the second place record for most assists in a season with four apiece. Swaine and Baas rank seventh and ninth, respectively, in the GSC in most assists per game.
- The Lady Statesmen tied the record for most goals in a game with an 11-1 victory over Alcorn State on Sept. 13.
- Thomson leads the team in goals with five, followed by Swaine (four), Tabitha Hayden (three), Sam Naughton (three), Ali Sullivan (three), Taylor Guess (three), Deegan (two), Traci Monroe (one), Zoe Scruggs (one), Taylor Schofield (one), Lakyn Cryder (one) and Baas (one).
ABOUT SHORTER:
- The Lady Hawks are 12th in the GSC with an overall record of 1-11-1 and GSC record of 0-7-1.
- The Lady Hawks enter Friday's match coming off a 2-0 loss to West Alabama.
- Shorter is still seeking its first conference win of the season and looks to snap a two-game losing streak.
- Taylor Hendrix leads the Lady Hawks' offense with three goals, seven points and 21 shots.
- The Shorter defense has allowed 32 goals this season, the most of any team in the GSC.
- Shorter goalkeeper, Alden Powell, has made 56 saves and allowed 18 goals. She ranks sixth in the conference in save percentage and third in saves per game, averaging 6.22.

- Kinsey Cichowitz leads the GSC in goals (10) and goals per game, averaging .769.
- Summer Lanter leads the Lady Flames in points (22), shots (49), shots on goal (26) and game-winning goals (three). She is second in the GSC in shots, points and game-winning goals.
- Lee goalkeeper, Haley Gribler is first in the GSC in save percentage and second in goals against average.
