ROLLA, Mo. -- The No. 6 Delta State University men's swim team earned victories in five races, but it wasn't enough as No. 18 Missouri S&T earned a 125-80 victory, on Friday at the Missouri S&T Pool.

How it happened:

• The Statesmen had a strong start, as Cody Lavoie, Matteo Fraschi, Adam Charlton and Mattia Schirru finished first with a 3:27.56 in the 400-Medley Relay.
• After a second place finish in the 200-Freestyle, Cody Lavoie bounced back two events later for a victory in the 200-IM (1:57.41). Lavoie earned his second win of the meet with a 1:56.20 in the 200-Backstroke.
• In the next race, Charlton picked up a win with a 1:53.29 in the 200-Butterfly.
• Matteo Fraschi won the lone breaststroke race of the evening, when he touched the wall in 2:01.95 in the 200. Fraschi's time in the 200 is currently the fastest in NCAA Division II.
• Mattia Schirru finished in second in the 50 (21.44) and 100-Freestyle (47.66).
• Nathan Sawicki came home in 9:56.32 to finish second in the 1000-Freestyle.

A Look Ahead:

• The Statesmen return to action for a five-team meet hosted by Lindenwood. Missouri S&T, Indianapolis and Truman State are also scheduled to compete. All five teams are ranked in the top 15 by CollegeSwimming.com.
