ST. PETER, Mo. -- The No. 10 Delta State University men's swim team knocked off a pair of ranked teams in a loaded field on Saturday at Lindenwood University, notching wins against #11 Truman State and against #9 Missouri S&T.

• Short Story: Delta State defeated Truman State and Missouri S&T while falling against Lindenwood and Indianapolis.

How it Happened:

• The Statesmen started the meet off strong, collecting a second place finish in the 200-Medley Relay. Cody Lavoie, Matteo Fraschi, Fabrice Wendel and Mattia Schirru logged a 1:34.28 to finish a little over one second out of first place.
• Nathan Sawicki clocked a 9:45.71 to finish in third place in the 1000-Freestyle. 
• Mattia Schirru raced to a 21.49 in the 50-Freestyle to finish in fifth place. Schirru also finished third in the 100-Freestyle, turning in a time of 47.01.
• Cody Lavoie placed fourth overall in the 400-IM with a 4:06.06. Lavoie also swam a 52.23 to finish third in the 100-Backstroke. 
• Kyle Weesner placed third on the one-meter diving board with 247.80 points. Teammates Eli McBride (232.50), Nic Martin (226.05) and Bill Ashwell (200.10) placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. 
• Martin, Weesner and McBride finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively, on the three-meter diving board. Martin tallied 229.51 points, Weesner scored with a 220.28 and McBride totaled a 194.77. 
• Matteo Fraschi earned the lone win for the Statesmen on the meet as he earned first overall in the 100-Breaststroke. Fraschi finished with a time of 55.71. 

A Look Ahead:

• The Statesmen return to action on November 5 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas as they swim against Henderson State University. The meet will get underway at 1 p.m.
