MONTGOMERY, Ala. – No. 2 Valdosta State downed No. 7 Delta State 5-1 in quarterfinal round of the 2016 Gulf South Conference Women's Tennis Tournament on Thursday at Lagoon Park. DSU's Nathalia Sato and Alex Howe claimed the win at No. 1 doubles over VSU's Bea Morales and Anke Poncelet, 9-7, but dropped the next five matches for the loss. VSU (12-7) advanced to the GSC Semifinals while the season is complete for the Lady Statesmen (7-10).
