Clay Casey combined for seven RBI's to lead No. 20 Delta State University (12-4, 6-3 GSC) to a 13-2 series clinching win over Union University (16-3, 7-2 GSC) on Sunday at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delta State struck for two runs in the second to take a 2-0 lead. Clay Casey singled to lead off the inning and scored on an Emil Ellis single. Ellis then scoredd on a Justin Nussbaum single through the left side.
- Union tied the game 2-2 in the third. Zach Wylie delivered an RBI single and another run crossed the plate on a throwing error.
- The Statesmen regained a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the third on RBI singles by Juwan Burney and Dakota Glore.
- The lead grew to 10-2 in the bottom of the fourth. Brian Lane had a two-run double and Casey belted a three-run home to make the score 9-2. Glore followed with an RBI double to close the scoring in the inning.
- A Lane two-run double in the bottom of the fifth and a St. Pierre RBI single in the sixth gave the Statesmen a 13-2 lead.
ON THE MOUND
- Seth Birdsong (2-0) struck out six batters and allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits to earn the win for the Statesmen.
- Marty Coursey (3-2) gave up four runs on six hits with a strikeout as the pitcher of record for Union.

- Casey's three-run home run in the fourth was his team-leading fourth of the season.
