JACKSON, Miss. - The Delta State University women's tennis team secured two points in doubles and singles, but wasn't enough as Jackson State knocked off the Lady Statesmen, 5-2 on Monday afternoon.
The Lady Statesmen jumped out to a 1-0 lead after
Sara Alvarez-Rubio and
Charlotte Le Flohic defeated Daria Butorina and Oni Jones 6-2 as well as
Sarah Nash and
Madison Wages winning by default in the third spot.
The momentum shifted in the singles competition as Jackson State claimed victories on five courts to ultimately give the Tigers the 5-2 victory.
Sarah Nash was the only Lady Statesmen to secure a point in singles beating C. Gauvreau-Dredge 6-4, 6-2 on the fifth court.
