Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Delta State University women's tennis team shut out Rhodes College 9-0 for its second straight win of the season on Saturday, Feb. 17, in Memphis, Tenn.
 
The Lady Statesmen had the upper edge, after winning all three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead.  
 
With only two more points needed to secure the match victory, the Lady Statesmen entered the singles competition with dominance. The Lady Statesmen clinched the match win after Deroode did not drop a single set to her opponent, but play continued. Delta State did not slow its momentum, though, as the Lady Statesmen won the remaining singles matches on courts one through four.

Match Notes:

• With the win, the Lady Statesmen improve to 2-1, the best start to the season since 2016 when the Lady Statesmen won four straight after dropping the 2016 season opener.
• Senior Charlotte Le Flohic and junior Ione' Deroode remain the only two Lady Statesmen that are undefeated in singles action.
• The 9-0 win over the Lynx is DSU's first shutout win of the season.
• Rhodes falls to 1-2.
