Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Lady Statesmen fell 8-1 to Gulf South Conference rival the University of North Alabama on March 11, 2018, in DSU's first home match of the season.
 
The Lions took the lead in the doubles competition. Charlotte Le Flohic and Nathalia Sato upset Claire DeGeorge and Elise Sickle at No. 3 doubles for the Lady Statesmen's lone match point.
 
The Lions continued their momentum in the singles competition, winning all singles matches. Sato was close to a match victory at No. 3 singles, forcing Donna Haycock to play a third set, but ended up dropping the final set.

MATCH NOTES:

• Delta State falls to 2-6 and 1-4 in GSC competition.
• UNA improves to 5-4 and 4-2 in GSC action.
• Le Flohic and Sato lead the Lady Statesmen in doubles with a 4-3 record.
• Since UNA announced its transition to DI, this will be the last GSC contest between the two rivals.
• The Lady Statesmen fall to 2-8 in home openers since 2009.
