Lady Statesmen Fall to UWA on Senior Day

Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University women's tennis fell 9-0 to the No. 35 University of West Alabama Lady Tigers on Thursday, April 12, in Cleveland, Miss.
 
The match was Delta State's final home match of the season, and seniors Charlotte Le Flohic and Jemina Linn Sorman were honored during Senior Day festivities.
 
The Lady Tigers dominated the doubles competition and gained a 3-0 lead heading into the singles competition.
 
The Lady Statesmen began to gain momentum in the singles competition. Nathalia Sato forced her oppoenet to play three sets, and Nathalia Stelzer and Le Flohic were also narrowly defeated. However, the Lady Tigers pulled through to clinch the win.

MATCH NOTES:
  • Delta State falls to 3-12 overall and 2-9 in the GSC.
  • UWA improves to 14-4 and 8-3 in the GSC.
  • Seniors Charlotte Le Flohic and Jemina Linn Sorman were honored prior to the start of the match. Le Flohic has appeared in 64 career singles matches and 64 career doubles matches at Delta State. Sorman transferred from Upper Iowa University to complete her collegiate tennis career at Delta State this season. She has appeared in 15 career doubles matches and 15 career singles matches.
