CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Men's and Women's Swim and Dive teams competed in a dual meet in Baton Rogue, La. on Saturday Afternoon. The Lady Statesmen picked up a victory over Division 1 Incarnate Word while falling to LSU. The Statesmen had two close defeats to LSU and Incarnate Word.

Inside the Ropes:

• The Lady Statesmen opened the night with third in the 200 yard medley relay swam by Lucia Martelli, Madison Lavoie, Madelyn Byrd, and Celina Batsel.
• The men took second in the 200 medley relay with Giulio Brugnoni, Savio Ragonesi, Emmanuel Fava, and Mattia Schirru.
• Caroline Jouisse took second in the 1650 free in 17:33:97 with Peyton Osborn taking third.
• Madison Lavoie missed winning the 100 yard breaststroke by 12 hundredths of a second. She swam it in 1:03:23 while the winning time was 1:03:11.
• Matti Schirru took second in the 50 free in 20.75.
• Lavoie also took second in the 200 yard breaststroke.
• Giulio Brugnoni won the only event for the Statesmen swimming the 100 yard butterfly in 48.89 a full second faster than anyone else.

On The Boards:
 

• Kyle Weesner took fifth in bith the 3-meter and 1-meter dives.

• The Statesmen and Lady Statesmen diving team head to Pensacola next Friday to take on UWF and Emory.
