CLEVELAND, Miss.- The Delta State University women's soccer team hits the road for the first time this weekend as they travel to Rome, Georgia to take on Shorter University on Friday and then Lee University on Sunday in Cleveland, Tennessee. The Lady Statesmen come into the weekend with a 1-2-3 record with every game at home so far.

INSIDE THE SERIES: Delta State trails the all time series with Shorter 3-4. Last year, Shorter won in Cleveland 3-2. The Lady Statesmen had a one goal lead after 50 minutes, but Shorter two unanswered in the last 30 minutes to pull the upset.
This will be the eighth meeting all time between DSU and Lee with the Lady Flames having won the first seven matchups. Last year Lee won 1-0 in double overtime. They took 28 shots to Delta State's four in the contest.
LAST TIME OUT: Delta State won its first game of the season against UAH 2-1.
Tasha Toms scored the game winner on a penalty kick in the 89
thminute. They also lost to West Alabama 2-0 on Sunday. Four different Lady Statesmen have scored on the season with
Anoucke Baas haven taken the most shots on goal with five.
INSIDE THE OPPONENTS:
Shorter enters this weekend with a 0-6 record. They have only played one GSC game and it was 5-0 loss to Lee. Shorter is lead by Izabel Salgado who has one goal and one assist.
The Lee Lady Flames are ranked the #5 team in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches Poll. Lee is 5-1 on the season thus far. Their only loss comes to the #1 team in the country Grand Valley State. Their defense has had five shutouts in the first six games. Devin Healy leads the Lady Flames with five goals and one assist on 17 shots. Riley Engles has three goals and three assists as well. Goalkeeper Taylor Green as faced 29 shots and recorded ten saves so far with three shutouts.
