Foreman Day 1 Tee Times
CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University men's golf looks to defend its title when the Statesmen host the 28th Derrall Foreman Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at the
Sam Dunning Golf Course at the Cleveland Country Club.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday beginning teeing off at 8 a.m. each day.

ABOUT CLEVELAND CC: The 18 hole course consisting of Champion Bermuda greens and 419 Bermuda fairways. The course plays 6700 from back tees, 6400 from middle tees, and 5400 from senior and lady tees. CCC stayed very active hosting 25 events this year including 37th annual 4-ball, 17th Sonny Andrews MGA Junior Championship, 11th annual 6-man scramble, Mississippi Lady's State 4-ball, Derrall Foreman intercollegiate, Three Delta senior events, and many other charitable tournaments throughout the year. This summer included three week long junior clinics. We have a full service pro shop that can do club repair, lessons, and a wide selection of equipment and clothes. CCC is also the home course for the Delta State University golf team.
The Course is named in honor of
Sam Dunning. Dunning currently is the CCC Golf Pro and Assistant to the Delta State Athletics Director for Special Projects, retiring as Statesmen's Head Men's Golf Coach following the 2015 season, ending a highly successful 25-year run. Dunning, an avid golfer and member of the Professional Golf Association, is widely known across the state of Mississippi for his knowledge of the sport. He wears many hats in the Cleveland, Miss., area as head golf pro and superintendent at Cleveland Country Club.

Senior
Zach Zediker finished tied for second while the Statesmen tied for seventh at the Aflac Cougar Classic hosted by Columbus State in Columbus, Ga.
Zediker fell one stroke short of his seventh career individual title, shooting a one-over, 72 to claim second at the Aflac Cougar Invitational on Tuesday at the Country Club of Columbus. Zediker held a three-stroke lead following tournament record nine-under, 62 in the second round but was tied with Georgia Southwestern's Vincent Norman going into the final hole. Norman birdied his final hole to take the individual title with a seven-under, 206, one stroke ahead of Zediker and Columbus State's Jordan Doull's six-under, 207.
Delta State shot a five-over, 289 in the final round to finish with a plus-eight, 860 team aggregate score. The Statesmen finished tied for seventh with Valdosta State University.
Zach Smith finished 24
th, shooting a two-over, 73 on the day for a two-over, 215.
Wilson Baker tied for 56
th with a nine-over, 222 followed by
Mitchell Fifer and
Noah Zediker tied for 64
th with an 11-over, 224.
Georgia Southwestern and Florida Southern finished the 54-hole tied for first with a four-under, 848. Norman birdied the first playoff hole of the playoff to give Georgia Southwestern the team championship. Lynn University was third with a three-under, 849 followed by St. Leo at even-par, 852. Host Columbus State and Lee University tied for fifth with a one-over, 853.
RECAPPING THE 2018 FOREMAN INTERCOLLEGIATE
Delta State University men's golf and
Zach Zediker turned in solid final rounds to sweep the team and individual awards at the 2018 Derrall Foreman Intercollegiate.
Holding a 21-stroke lead after 36 holes, the Statesmen carded a two-under, 286 to finish with -15, 849 54-hole total to collect their second straight Foreman title.
Zediker notched a one-under, 71 for a -11, 205 54-hole total to claim his third low medalist of the fall by seven strokes. The Panama, City, Fla., native lead the tournament, shooting one-under on the par three holds while finishing second at seven-under on par five holes.
Zach Smith carded lowest round of the day for the Statesmen, carding a three-under, 69 to finish in second place with a six-under, 210.
Christian Brothers' Jackson Singletary fired a five-under, 67 to move from eighth into second place with a four-under, 212.
John-Crawford Counts finished tied for 10
th with Meridian Community College's Dalton Baskin at three-over, 219.
Wyatt Berry and
Colby Evans tied for 12
th, shooting five-over, 221 over three rounds. After shooting, 78, 73, Berry closed with a two-under, 70. Evans shot 74, 74 through the first two rounds before closing with a one-over, 73.
Christian Brothers finished second in the team standings with an 868 (+4) followed by Meridian Community College (875), Mississippi College (887), Union (Tenn.) University (902), Arkansas Monticello (903), Shorter University (905), Belhaven University (956) and Hendrix College (991).
