CLEVELAND, Miss.- After scoring a pair of second half goals on Saturday afternoon over Spring Hill College, the Delta State University (6-6-4, 6-5-1 GSC) is headed into the Gulf South Conference Tournament for the first time in the program's history. The Lady Statesmen also set the record for most conference wins in a season with six.

INSIDE THE SERIES: Delta State trails the all-time series with Mississippi College 8-0. Earlier this year Mississippi College scored in the 87
th minute to steal a 1-0 win over DSU.

LAST TIME OUT: The Delta State University Women's soccer had their matchup against UWF rained out in the 8
th minute. Then they turned around on Saturday and defeated SHC 2-0 behind goals from
Diana Okechukwu and
Rylee McGee. It was McGee's first goal of her career. Okechukwu now leads the Lady Statesmen with three goals and two assists.
INSIDE THE OPPONENTS: Mississippi College is 14-1 on the year. Their only loss was on the opening game of the year at Saint Leo by a final of 1-0. They went 12-0 in conference having beaten UWA 7-0, Lee 3-1, and Shorter 9-1. Last weekend their game against Spring Hill was rained out and then they beat West Florida 2-0. They have outscored opponents 53-9 this season. The team has attempted 332 shots. Katie Taylor leads the way with 12 goals and eight assists on 58 shots with 34 of those on target. Erin Herderman has also added six goals and seven assists. In goal, Gabby Kayser has 29 saves and seven shutouts.
