Statesmen Win The Third Annual Delta Dive Invite

RESULTS

CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Statesmen and Lady Statesmen Dive teams hosted the third annual Delta Dive Invitational this weekend with the Statesmen earning the win. The Lady Statesmen finished in third place. It is the final meet before the DSU Christmas Invitational to end the semester in December. Diving coach Kyle Friesenhahn was very pleased with the inivtiational. "I look at the entire meet as a success. Our divers were able to compete new dives against high-level competition, and had a great showing against many national qualifying divers from across the nation. I see this meet as a tune-up for the larger upcoming meets, and I am very excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for us. I want to thank the other schools who attended this meet, as they made the third edition of the Invite a very competitive and exciting environment. Coach Murray has done a great job of supporting the program and making it grow. I was very happy to see so many parents and students. Their support definitely helped energize the pool this weekend. Jawone did a great job working to refine his skills while competing some new, exciting dives this weekend. Kyle stepped up and is looking very sharp as we move to the second half of the season. I am proud of everyone's efforts this weekend and am excited for the rest of the year."
