CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Statesmen and Lady Statesmen Dive teams finished the 19
th annual Christmas invitational with the Statesmen claiming a win while the Lady Statesmen came in second. Records fell as Madison Lavoie,
Emanuel Fava, and
Jawone Blankenship all broke records in the pool or on the boards on Saturday.
Off The Starting Blocks:

Inside The Ropes:
- In the women's 1650 Peyton Osborn took third with a time of 17.10.63
- Fava broke the school record and made the NCAA "A" Cut in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:44:44.
- Lucia Martelli won the 100 free for the first time in 51.61 which is a NCAA "B" cut time.
- Lavoie won the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:13:97. Not only is in the fastest time in division two right now, she also broke the oldest Ronnie Mayers Aquatic Center record which was set by Anna Poleska from Alabama in 2004.
- Chelsea Borrowdale took second place in the 200 yard breastroke finishing in 2:18:51 which was five seconds behind Lavoie.
- Savio Ragonesi took second in the men's 200 yard breastroke in 1:59:72
- In the prelims, Matey Rezashki swam a 200 yard breaststroke in 1:57:04 which is the fastest time in division two right now as well.
- Celeste Turner won the 200 yard butterfly in 2:02:66.
- Rezashki won the 200 fly as well in 1:47:73 which is a NCAA "B" cut time as well.
- The team of Lucia Martelli, Victoria Brady, Mackenzie McGuire, and Celeste Turner won the 400 free relay in 3:26:48.
- The Statesmen finished third in the 400 free relay in 3:05:62.
On The Boards:
- Gillian Pratt finished second in the one-meter diving with a score of 443.46
- Madeline Prusinowski was fourth with a score of 381.44
- Megan Black was fifth with a score of 335.04
- Jawone Blankenship won the men's three-meter dive with a score of 588.98 breaking the DSU and pool record in the process. The pool record had stood since 2013 which was set by Dwight Baker from Drury.
- Kyle Weesner had 527.77 points in second.
