INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The Delta State University Swim and Dives teams continue the NCAA Championships with good finishes on day two. The Statesmen continue to be led by Guilio Brugnoni who is having a strong NCAA Tournament.

Inside The Ropes: PRELIMINARIES
- In the 400 individual medley, Caroline Jouisse and Chelsea Borrowdale qualified for the 'B' Final with times of 4:24:89 and 4:25:15 respectively.
- Matey Rezashki also qualified for the 'B' Final in the 400 IM with a time of 3:54:32.
- Lucia Martelli and Celeste Turner qualified for the 'B" Final of the 100 yard butterfly with times of 54.72 and 54.67 respectively.
- The Statesmen had two qualify for the final of the men's 100 butterfly with Giulio Brugnoni and Federico Bracco.
- Turner finished in 18th in the 200 free with a time of 1:51:03 while Celina Batsel finished in 29th.
- Michael Maly in the men's 200 free finished in 31st.
- The women's 200 free relay finished in 17th
- The men's 200 free qualified third for the final with a time of 1:19:36
- In the women's 400 medley relay, the Lady Statesmen qualified for the 'B' Final with a time of 3:46:17.
- The Statesmen had the fourth best time in the preliminaries with a time of 3:12:61.
Inside The Ropes: FINALS
- The 200 free relay team of Giulio Brugnoni, Alex Zolotukhin, Mattia Schirru, and Kohen Kerr took home third in 1:19:11.
- Jouisse finished in 12th place with a time of 4:24:95 in the women's 400 IM
- Also in the women's 400 IM was Borrowdale who swam it in 4:26:30 and finished in 14th
- In the men's 400 IM, Rezashki, finished in 14th and did it in 3:56:98.
- Martelli swam in the 'B' Final of the 100 butterfly winning it and coming in 9th. Her time was in 54.35
- Freshman Celeste Turner also swam the 100 fly and finished in 12th in her first NCAA race.
- Brugnoni swam the 100 fly on the men's side and came in 5th with a time of 47.15.
- Bracco, who just barley snuck into the 100 fly final managed to come in 8th in 47.56.
- In the women's 400 medley relay, the Lady Statesmen, of Celeste Turner, Madison Lavoie, Lucia Martelli, and Celina Batsel, came in 9th in the consolation final with a time of 3:43:14
- The Statesmen finished in 4thin the men's 400 medley relay, Emanuel Fava, Giulio Brugnoni, Savio Ragonesi, and Mattia Schirru swam it in 3:12:30.
Notables:
- The 200 freestyle relay was the fastest time in DSU history and third place was also best all time. The exact same four swimmers who finished fourth last year swam it this year.
- Bracco had the third fastest time in DSU history in the 100 fly.
- Meanwhile Brugnoni's time is the best finish and best time for the Green and White at the NCAA Championships in the 100 fly.
- It was the best finish for DSU in the 400 medley relay but not the best time. The team of Wendel, Peach, Pendall, and Schirru was faster in 2016.
