CLEVELAND, Miss. — The Delta State University men's swimming and diving team put on a dominating performance against Ouachita Baptist University in the first meet of 2021, taking first place in all but one event to win the dual meet.

INSIDE THE LANE LINES
- The Delta State Men's "A" group placed first in the 200-yard Medley relay with a time of 1:32.23. The Statesmen's "B" group's time of 1:35.54 was good enough for second.
- The Statesmen dominated the 1000-yard freestyle after John Stewart placed first with a time of 9:45.45, while Benjamin Kelly swam a 9:56.00 to finish second.
- Nathan Garick finished first for the Statesmen in the 200-yard freestyle after swimming a 1:46.60. Josh Armond's time of 1:49.86 would be good enough to take second for Delta State.
- Delta State's Emanuel Fava continues to dominate the 100-yard backstroke, as he finished first with a time of 53.49 while Jared Ehrman placed second in the event, swimming a 54.47.
- The Statesmen took first and second in the 100-yard breaststroke. Savio Ragonesi won after swimming a 57.76. AJ Williams' time of 59.19 was good enough for second.
- Federico Bracco's time of 1:53.80 took first place for Delta State in the 200-yard butterfly. Carson Traylor placed second in the event with a time of 1:56.30.
- Delta State took first place and second place in the 50-yard freestyle. Giulio Brugnoni won with a time of 20.85 and Tucker Schroer placed second with a time of 21.45.
- Tucker Schroer placed first for the Statesmen in the 100-yard freestyle. Schroer finished with a time of 46.94.
- Fava picked up his second victory of the meet after swimming a 1:57.63 in the 200-yard backstroke. Jared Ehrman finished second, swimming a 2:00.21.
- The Statesmen's Ragonesi placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- Stewart finished first, for DSU, in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 4:47.42. Kelly placed second in the event with a time of 4:50.52
- Bracco finished first for the Statesmen in the 100-yard butterfly after swimming a time of 50.58. Brugnoni would finish second with a time of 50.76.
- The Statesmen finished in first and second in the 200-yard IM. Fava finished first with a time of 1:56.49, while Williams finished second with a time of 1:58.14.
ON THE BOARDS
- Hunter McCarter scored a 241.81 on the three-meter diving board and tallied a 237.97 on the one-meter board.
