CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University Lady Statesmen swimming and diving team opened its home 2021-22 season with a 215-75 win over visiting Rhodes College.
It was the seventh straight year the Lady Statesmen have faced the Lynx of Rhodes College and have won all seven times.

INSIDE THE ROPES
- The Lady Statesmen relay team of Madelyn Byrd, Madison Lavoie, Celeste Turner, and Tristen Fant won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:49.11.
- Peyton Osborn brought home first in the 1000-yard free with a time of 10:44.39.
- Lavoie won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.79.
- Alexis Moon won her first collegiate event taking on the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.83.
- Byrd took home first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.87.
- Lavoie won her second event taking the 50-yard free with a time of 24.55.
- Martina Rossetti took home first in the 100-yard free with a time of 54.61
- Hayden Kirkhart won her first collegiate event with a victory in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:09.62.
- Jamie Glover also won her first race of her DSU career with a time of 5:21.83 in the 500-yard free.
- Turner took home first in the 100-yard butterfly clocking a 58.70.
- Kelsey Farmer posted her first win in a 2:15.95 time of the 200-yard individual medley.
ON THE BOARDS:
- Hannah Babcock won the one-meter diving for her first career win (267.89).
- Gillian Pratt finished second with 258.45 points.
- Megan Black was fourth in the one-meter dive (179.53).
- Babcock took first in the three-meter (251.40) diving.
- Pratt took second and Black came in third.
