BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- After a day delay due to severe weather, Emanuel Fava secured his second consecutive NCAA National Championship in the 200 Individual Medley on Thursday night, and the Delta State men's swimming and diving team sits in sixth place after the second night of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

INSIDE THE LANE LINES:
- In the 200 yard medley relay, Emanuel Fava, Savio Ragonesi, Giulio Brugnoni and Tucker Schroer swam a 1:26.51 to earn All-American honors in fifth place.
- In the men's 1000 yard freestyle, John Stewart collected his first career All-American finish. His 9:14.66 placed him in eighth overall in the event.
- The 200 IM saw Fava capture his second straight national title, as he logged a 1:43.92 to defend his championship title.
- In the 50 yard freestyle, Brugnoni swam to fourth place overall with a time of 19.64 for the Statesmen.
- Schroer, Fava, Federico Bracco, and Ragonesi swam a 1:30.21 to finish in seventh place and capture All-American honors.
- Brugnoni was the national runner-up, in second place, in the 100 yard butterfly with a new-school record time of 46.16.
- In the men's 400 yard IM, Stewart garnered an 18th place finish.
- Fava, Ragonesi, Brugnoni, and Schroer also took down the school record in the 400 medley relay, as the squad swam a 3:10.67 to earn all-American honors in third place overall for the Statesmen.
