Tunica, Miss. – Statesmen men's golf was on the road earlier this week for the Tunica Cup tournament, hosted by Union University and Christian Brothers University. The team placed fourth in the tournament shooting a +41. Pongbhop Jamornsrian finished third shooting -2 for the tournament. Brett Baker finished 21 shooting +16 for the tournament.

Head Coach Landon Cottrell said "The guys played pretty well overall. We simply had too many mistakes that cost us placing inside the top three for the event. Even though it wasn't the result we were looking for, I loved that everyone on the team battled in the tough windy conditions. Pongbhop played an excellent final round carding a bogey free (-6) 66. My outlook "now that the tournament is over is that we are trending in the right direction." Overall, I am pleased with where we are heading and excited to see what happens at our next event."

Up next for the Statesmen men's golf is the Derrall Foreman Invitational on Monday March 13th, 2023 on the Samuel T. Dunning Golf Course at the Cleveland Country Club.
