CLINTON, Miss. – The Lady Statesmen cross country team of Delta State University finishes off their season at the GSC Championship earning a 12^th place finish.
As a team, the Lady Statesmen finished twelfth with a total score of 366 points.

Junior Emma Haley was our top finisher with a 26:48.60 timed 6k finishing 76 overall. Following Haley was junior Anne Maree Crechale running a 27:08.40  with a 81^st place finish. Right Behind Crechale we find freshman Mackenzie Mercer, followed by senior Abby Covington in 89^th place with a time of 28:29.90.

"This was the first season with the conference championship being 6k. We made adjustments and ran more 6k's throughout the schedule. This is obviously not the finish we wanted. It's an extremely tough conference to compete in. All we can do is let it motivate us to work harder and be better/faster"  said head coach Britnee Smith
