CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Men's Swimming and Diving Team went toe to toe with the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University with OBU coming out on top 369-311.
Freshman
Michael Robinson took two first place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle A final and the 100-yard backstroke A final.
Adam Rickert started the evening session with a first-place finish in the mile freestyle with a 15:51.58.
Riley Oakes followed up the mile as his time of 1:50.42 would give him a first-place finish in the 200-yard Individual Medley.
The race of the night would be in the 50-yard freestyle where Robinson would edge teammate
Ethan Baylin with a sub-20 second time of 19.94.
Kacper Mochnal would follow up the 50-yard freestyle with a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:47.04
Robinson and Oakes would put on a show for the evening crowd in the 100-yard backstroke as Robinson would edge Oakes with a 49.58 second finish.
In the 100-yard breaststroke would be the first time a Tiger swimmer finished in first place, but
Jacob Hamblen finished in a close second with a 55.06 second finish.
The Statesmen will honor their senior class before the 4:00 p.m., (CDT) session in the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatics Center.
