ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The Delta State University Women's Swimming and Diving delivered an impressive performance on Friday evening, earning a commanding
194–55 team win, taking first in nearly every event on the women's side.
Delta State opened strong with a 1-2 finish in the
400-yard medley relay, led by
Olivia Murphy,
Pia Delkeskamp,
Zinna Nimander, and
Ave Owens at 3:51.74. From there, the women never looked back.
Freshman
Rhianna Foster claimed victory in the
1650 freestyle (17:22.49), while
Kennedy Cleasant (1:58.53) and
Ave Owens (1:59.50) led a sweep in the
200 freestyle. Murphy added another win in the
100 backstroke (57.48), and
Chloe Skelt paced the
100-yard breaststroke field at 1:05.94. In the butterfly events,
Janne Bodemer (2:08.34) and
Zinna Nimander (57.74) powered DSU to more first-place finishes. The team closed the meet in dominant fashion, taking the top three spots in the
200 backstroke and
200 breaststroke, capped by another relay win in the
200 freestyle (1:38.00).
The Lady Statesmen look to add onto their strong performance with another dual meet against Ouachita Baptist University tomorrow in Arkadelphia.
