MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Delta State University cross country team placed 11th at the Rhodes Invitational on Saturday morning at Shelby Farms.
Leading the way for the Lady Statesmen was freshman
Caroline McAlpin, who finished 72nd overall in 22:40.06, setting the tone for Delta State's pack. Just two spots back,
Lindsey Hogue crossed the line in 22:51.43.
The middle of the lineup packed up well with
Maeve Lavoy (84th, 23:48.56) and
Mackenzie Mercer (85th, 23:49.74) finishing nearly shoulder-to-shoulder, showing solid grouping in the latter stages of the race.
Kayla Lofton (89th, 24:45.37) and
Emma Haley (94th, 25:36.55) rounded out the scoring for Delta State.
DSU will travel to Blue Mountain, Miss., on Saturday, Sept. 27 to participate in the Topper Trails College Classic hosted by Blue Mountain Christian University. The race is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
